What is Coaching?
Starting with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) definition of coaching, it is a partnership between coach and client in a stimulating and creative process that inspires the client to maximize his or her personal and professional potential. Coaching is a client-driven process that is distinct from other personal development professions, such as counseling, mentoring, consulting, training. It is transformative for the client, action-oriented, results-driven, and a process of learning and becoming more aware of oneself and how to raise one’s potential.
What is an Executive Coach?
Coaching is probably one of the most common approaches – if not the most adopted by individual managers and leaders, in the development of talent and exploration of potential, as it involves a close and confidential relationship between coach and client in a totally safe and confidential environment, supported by a code of Ethics, based on rigor and professionalism.
By meeting individually with managers or senior leaders within an organization (president, vice president, CEO, or C-level member), the executive coach provides a trusted, structured, and safe space where, in partnership with his client, he explores possibilities and puts the current reality into perspective by challenging through questioning for awareness.
The coach challenges the client to understand his or her current reality and competencies, to see how they are perceived by others, and to focus on identifying and clarifying current goals, as well as the most appropriate choices and decisions in each moment to achieve the results he or she wants.
Our Coaching Approach
All models have similar elements in discovering the client’s perspective and reality, setting goals or objectives, offering different points of view or options, and then choosing the best course of action to move forward toward a desired state.
